Writing for the Web - how to (and how not to?)

“Never before in history has any individual person had the means to express themselves so freely to such a degree that every sentence, from the tiniest of tweets to the most preposterous of posts, is able to reach such a wide audience in such a micro-scale of time.”
(Shoo! okay I’ll give you a few minutes to digest that deep and cosmic mouthful)
Blogs have undoubtedly and unmistakably taken over. They are everywhere. They are the new ether, the dark matter between being late for your corporate meeting and accidentally posting a private message to the public profile. They are the new cool, the mcDaddy of mobile, the shawty of social and the itch in the bum of IE6. Everyone, from your mother-in-law to your pet goldfish has at least one and you wouldn’t dare be seen without flashing your blog at least twice at a party.
But, funny bones aside, coupled with the shiznizz of blogging and owning a blog, contributing to a social online journal can be a headache, particularly when not knowing the general rule of blogging: Watch what you blog!. Currently there are well over 70 million different blogs online and of these, more that 60% contributes meaningless, useless information. The quality of the content in you blog is important, so much so that over 45% of companies are now actively screening your social media profiles as a pre-requisite to getting employed. Just earlier this week, President Obama advised some kids to be careful on facebook.
Dangers aside, blogging and social networking can have positive effects. Exposing you career interests, or sharing of information, online tutorials, friendly debates and matters pertaining to every branch of education may be or has been blogged about. Yet, for the most of us blog-illiterate folk, we wouldn’t know when and where to begin. So, I managed to dig-dug up some rather useful links on how to go about writing for the web:
I could probably list some tips of my own like don’t stare at your browser with your finger on refresh for over 20 minutes waiting for the first comment on your blog. Or don’t use your best-man’s speech as a platform to ‘brog’ - brag about your blog. And practice safe blogging - ALWAYS use a captcha.

Brilliant post Uzair.I am looking forward reading your first novel, I hope you are still actively working on it. I have to agree with Wendy. You are “wasted” as a developer.I would suggest that your publish your poems on your blog, the ones u gave me to read, is very good.
